Christmas in Bend 2009

Christmas 2009 was lively, fun and filled with grand kids and family. Both girls, and their families, came for the holidays. We started with remote-control helicopters, ended up in the kitchen making cookies for Santa, and then put the last decoration on the Christmas tree calendar that the girls have been doing for at least twenty years. It's fun to see their children continuing the tradition.

Christmas Day found us on the mountain skiing and drinking hot chocolate. Both Adi and Colin are becoming great little skiers (and hot chocolate drinkers!!)

Next came the first annual Sheppard-Stoddard Half-Marathon on Saturday morning. Amy and Jennifer were the runners (they are getting ready for the LA Marathon in March.) The rest of us drove around town in order to cheer them on, give them water, and warm hats and gloves. It was freezing!!!

The day was topped off with a quick trip to Wanoga Park, a great place to go sledding. You'll see thrills and spills!! And then, it was a "real" sled ride, complete with sled dogs.
